Swipha marks Sambo’s 46th birthday, retirement
In appreciation of his two decades of meritorious contributions to the growth of the company, the management of Swiss Pharma Nigeria Limited (Swipha), recently organised a birthday party that doubled as a sendoff for Pharm. Abass Sani Sambo, deputy managing director of Swipha, as he retired from the company.
The event, held at the African Sun, Ikeja GRA, and chaired by Prof. Fola Tayo, Pro Chancellor, Caleb University, was also graced by the Chairman of Swipha, Mr Colin Cummings, some top staff of the company, as well as some friends of Pharm. Sambo.
In a brief remark at the event, Prof. Fola Tayo, urged other members of staff of Swipha to sustain the good work of Sambo, who had played his part in the growth of the company.
The renowned pharmacy trainer said Sambo was exemplary in ensuring that Swipha emerged as the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to be awarded the WHO GMP prequalification.
While commending Swipha for organising the event, he urged Sambo to continue with the sterling leadership qualities and humble nature that distinguished him while working with Swipha.
Chairman of Swipha, Mr Cummings, also praised Mr Sambo for his contributions to the growth and development of Swipha in the 20 years he worked with the company, adding that he was a dedicated member of the Swipha family.
Swipha’s Pharma Manager, Pharm. I. G. Anukwu, equally showered encomiums on Pharm. Sambo, saying that he learnt a lot from him. He assured that he and other Swipha staff would continue the good work at Swipha, with the aim of leaving good legacies like Mr Sambo.
Other top personalities took turns to shower encomiums on Mr Sambo, describing him as a very humble and dedicated manager and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
In his remarks, Pharm. Sambo thanked Mr Cummings for giving him the opportunity to serve the company. He also expressed gratitude to other Swipha staff for their support and cooperation, adding that all that was achieved while working with Swipha was only possible because they worked together as a team.
Sambo said further that he was happy to have worked with the Swipha team, describing the staff as dedicated and hardworking. He urged them to keep up the good work, noting that he believed they could take the company, which he described as the best pharmaceutical company in Nigeria, to the next level.
The highlights of the occasion were the presentation of an award plaque to Pharm. Sambo, in recognition of his contributions to Swipha, by the company’s chairman, Mr Cummings; and the cutting of the birthday cake with the dignitaries at the occasion.
