Crocodile City 2019 Promises to be More Than a Conference, Says Ohuabunwa

The President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa has urged pharmacists and other stakeholders in the health sector to ensure they are present at the 2019 Annual National Conference of the PSN holding in Kaduna in the first week of November and tagged Crocodile City, noting that this year’s gathering of pharmacists promises to be more than a conference.

Speaking with newsmen at the PSN office in Anthony, Lagos on Monday, the PSN president said that a lot of people are already enthusiastic about the conference, disclosing that the huge interest in the event is already reflected in the number of registration and subscriptions received so far.

Mazi Ohuabunwa disclosed that the government and people of Kaduna are very receptive and in high spirit to welcome all participants to the conference holding from 4 Monday to 9 Saturday in November.

The PSN helmsman stated further that the conference themed ‘Navigating the Wind of Change in Professional Practice in a Volatile Economy’ will help address key areas of need towards retooling for best world practice in the coming year as we provide a platform to showcase research findings, new technologies and pharmaceutical products and consumables.

Mazi Ohuabunwa said that the conference, the first he is hosting as PSN president will also serve as a peer review to close up gaps in practice between Nigeria and other countries with better health indices and between states for knowledge transfer from one institution for another, adding that he has been working assiduously with the conference planning committee to deliver a conference of international standard.

The president disclosed further that given the present economic quagmire in the country and its effect on the health and wellbeing of Nigerians, the PSN decided to frame the discussion at the conference on pharmaco-economics and selected a selected a scholarly and cultivated speaker, Prof. Pat. Utomi, a professor of political economy and management expert to give the keynote speaker.

Also speaking at the media parley Pharm. Bankole Ezebuilo, chairman, Conference Planning Committee (CPC) said that the conference will be unique and will be like none held before in the history of PSN, stressing that measures have been put in place to ensure it is a memorable experience for all participants.

He disclosed that there is already an App already created to provide all the information required by participants and others interested in the conference, adding that security, transport and other logistics are been provided to ensure the conference is stress free and enjoyable.

He stated further that new measures have also been put in place to ensure Crocodile City 2019 is enjoyable for those coming to the conference to unwind, noting that aside the introduction of comedy during the opening ceremony, there will also be a night of social to ensure people coming for relaxation have a nice time.

Pharm Ezebuilo also said that a serene exhibition environment of international standard with air conditioners has also been provided for those coming to the conference for business to ensure they are able to carry out their business without stress.
