Drugfield Pharmaceuticals Limited will continue to make provision of high quality medicines for Nigerians its top priority, says Pharm. Olakunle Ekundayo, the group managing director of the company.
Speaking with Pharmanews in an exclusive interview during a recent distributors’ award ceremony organised by Drugfield and its distribution partner, World Wide Commercial Ventures Limited (WWCVL), and held at the company’s corporate head office in Ota, Ogun State, Pharm. Ekundayo disclosed further that many more quality products would soon be introduced by the company to meet the health needs of Nigerians, adding that Nigerians should continue to be assured that when they buy Drugfield’s products, they are getting high quality products from a sure source.
Pharm. Ekundayo noted that the company is dedicated to helping to provide quality essential medicines needed by Nigerians in order to reduce the nation’s over dependence on foreign imports.
On the reason for organising the distributors function, the Drugfield’s helmsman said it was a sign that the company was evolving, adding that while the company had before now always used sales representatives as its mini distributors, the partnership with WWCVL had made it necessary for it to relate more directly with distributors and wholesalers who are the company’s partners in progress.
He disclosed further that since 2015 when collaboration with WWCVL began on the distribution of the company’s products, Drugfield had adapted its system of relating with the distributors of its products, which was what culminated in the first distributors function organised. He added that more of such functions would be held in the coming years.
The Drugfield boss also praised the management of WWCVL, describing the company as a dependable mega drug distribution company with a great track record, noting that the company was always very quick in getting the products to distributors all over the country and equally very honest in all its dealings with Drugfield.
Pharm. Ekundayo stated further that WWCVL is also very reliable with payments, noting that whenever the company said it was going to pay at the end of 30 days, it never failed to keep its promise. This, he said, had enabled Drugfield to cope better with the current economic challenges facing commerce in the country, as well as helping the company to project and plan for the purchase of materials needed for production.
Pharm. Ekundayo also noted that Drugfield has received important feedback from its interaction with the distributors and will be doing more to create awareness for the company’s products.
Also speaking with Pharmanews at the event, Pharm. Michael Odediran, sales executive director, Drugfield, said that the interaction with the distributors had shown that they were willing and ready to partner with Drugfield to achieve more success for both parties.
Also speaking at the event Pharm. Sola Akande, executive director, marketing said that the parley with the distributors, had also affirmed that they are important partners of the company, adding that the relationship with them (distributors) would be strengthened to ensure the company achieves its goals.
Speaking in the same vein, Pharm. Sesan Babalola, executive director, sales, Drugfield, also praised the distributors for their contributions to the company, adding that having toured the Drugfield factory during the event, they (distributors) had seen firsthand where the quality products of the company were produced, adding that they would now be more confident to market them and tell the end users more about them.
The highlight of the memorable occasion was the presentation of award plaques and gifts to the distributors.
