May & Baker Professional Service Award: PSN calls for Nomination


The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), has called for nomination for the 2020 edition of the May & Baker Professional Service Award.

Disclosing this in a letter made available to Pharmanews, the National Secretary, PSN, Pharm. Emeka Duru, on behalf of the May & Baker Professional Service Award Committee, noted that all financial members of the Society are eligible to nominate themselves by submitting their names and CVs, or that of their nominee worthy to be a recipient of the award.

According to him, the May& Baker Professional Service Award in Pharmacy was instituted in 2005 by May & Baker Nigeria Plc to recognise outstanding achievements and contributions in the practice of pharmacy as well as rewarding excellence and innovation in the practice in Nigeria.

To qualify for the award with a cash prize N500, 000, he said applicants must complete a designated form for nomination.

In addition to the cash prize, Duru said the winner is also entitled to a passage allowance to enable him/her attend the National Conference of the PSN to receive the award.
He specifically noted that applicants must clearly and distinctly indicate their innovative work, leadership position, achievements, awards received, both locally and internationally, academic qualifications, professional qualification, and competence, service in the community, or charitable organizations, as well as philanthropic projects that are undertaken, among others.

While warning that irrelevant documents will not be reviewed and may cause loss of points, he said applicants may be required to appear before the award selection committee to clarify some of their claims.
