Nigeria Records 566 New COVID-19 Cases, Toll Now 25,133, 573 Fatalities –NCDC

The spread of novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria touched a new milestone as the latest statistics provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reveal Nigeria now has 25,133 confirmed cases.

On the 29th of June 2020, 566 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 2,140 samples across the country.

To date, 25,133 cases have been confirmed, 9,402 cases have been discharged and 573 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 132,304 tests have been carried out as of June 29th, 2020 compared to 130,164 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 566 new cases are reported from 20 states- Lagos (166), Oyo (66), Delta (53), Ebonyi (43), Plateau (34), Ondo (32), FCT (26), Ogun (25), Edo (24), Imo (15), Bayelsa (13), Benue (12), Gombe (11), Kano (11), Kaduna (11), Osun (8), Nasarawa (7), Borno (5), Katsina (2), Anambra (2).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 10,310, followed by Abuja (1,818), Oyo (1,372), Kano (1,211), Rivers (1,056), Edo (986), Delta (965), Ogun (807), Kaduna (714), Katsina (551), Gombe (503), Bauchi (500), Borno (491), Ebonyi (438), Plateau (371), Imo (318), Jigawa (317), Abia (302).
