Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu Tests Positive for Coronavirus

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has just tested positive for Coronavirus.

The 63-year-old governor revealed this at a press conference in Akure, the state capital today 30 June.

He said: ”I had malaria a few days ago and was treated. I did get over it and as at the time we had our party NEC and my colleagues called on me, I spoke with one of them who felt that malaria shouldn't be treated lightly but that I should go ahead and have a test for COVID-19.

“The result came out today 30 June and I tested positive.

“I am asymptomatic. I am not feeling sick nor feeling hot in anyway but my doctors have decided I should take the normal treatment and self-isolate. I believe that supervised home management will be ideal for me for now and so from now, I will be isolated and go on with the supervised home management” he said

Ondo state currently has 276 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
