- As Ohuabunwa restates commitment to implementing 7 points agenda
Eminent Nigerians among whom are Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, vice president of Nigeria; Prof. Isaac Adewole, minister of health; Mr Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia State governor and Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, president, Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy are expected at the inauguration and investiture ceremony of the new PSN President, Pharm. (Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa and new fellows of the PSN.
Speaking with newsmen at a media parley held at the Pharmacy House, Anthony, Lagos, PSN president, Mazi Ohuabunwa disclosed that the event slated for 24 January will be held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, adding that during his tenure as president, he will focus on his seven points agenda contained in his manifesto.
The new PSN helmsman pledged to provide framework towards improved healthcare outcome in health facilities in the country and ensure the proper integration of pharmaceutical care in all aspects of pharmaceutical services in the country.
Ohuabunwa disclosed further that he will facilitate the smooth takeoff of the National Drug Distribution Guideline (NDDG), while advocating for the signing into law of the Pharmacy Law, which will strengthen all aspects of pharmacy services and promote equity, fair play, team work and proper remuneration of pharmacists in the public and private sectors.
Also speaking at the media briefing, Dr Okey Akpa, the CEO, SKG Pharmaceuticals and chairman of the Inauguration and Investiture Committee stated that at the event, Mazi Ohuabunwa will be inaugurated as the 20th president of the PSN while some deserving pharmacists who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour and service to the Society and the country will be invested with the respectable fellowship of the PSN.
Dr Akpa disclosed further that eminent personalities from all spheres of life, namely; politicians, academics and government officials are expected at the grand event.
