-Says it will help promote safe use of medicines
The PSN Medicine Information Centre, was established, to help promote safe, effective and efficient use of medicines, Pharm. Ahmed Yakasai, president, PSN, has said.
Speaking on Tuesday at the official commissioning of the centre, located at the Pharmacy House, Anthony Village, Pharm. Yakasai assured that the centre will dish out accurate and up-to-date information to Nigerians and help improve communication between patients and all healthcare professionals, as well as ensure better access to reliable, unbiased and high quality information on appropriate use of medicines.
Pharm. Yakasai noted that the centre, the first of its kind in Nigeria, is in collaboration with the United Kingdom Medicine Information Centre (UKMI) adding that he intends to secure the licence of Medicine Complete of Royal Pharmaceutical Society, UK.
The PSN President was joined at the event by about 50 pharmacists as he dedicated the entre to the service of humanity, while disclosing that Pharm. Folashade Lawal has agreed to be the PSN desk officer for the centre.
