Efirin, daidoya, nchanwu or scent leaf, whose botanical name is Ocimum gratissimum, is a tropical plant species that belongs to the family of Labiatae.

It is usually a homegrown shrub used mainly as spices for cooking delicacies due to its unique aromatic taste. Scent leaves are high in calcium,phophurus, iron, potassium, carbon and vitamin A . The picture on your write up is that Mint, Mentha piperita and not Ocimum gratissimum. The two of them are called scent leaf in Nigeria and that I think is where the mix up comes from. 2. You are right about giving good breadth but scent leaf kills the bad bacteria only and leave the good. It can not kill all the bacteria in the mouth.l, it is not possible. Our bodies are made up of bacteria good and bad. Antibiotics kills good and the bad but plants will have effect on the bad but will leave the good. Many thanks and keep up the good work.
